Harcombe House in RopleyThis project was the creation of a 1.5 acre lake in a field alongside the access to a substantial property in this very beautiful part of Hampshire. Planning permission was required for the lake and a survey revealed the subsoil to be chalk. This would require the installation of a liner system such as butyl. There was also the added complication of overhead lines through the proposed location. The diversion of the services were subsequently arranged, subject to liaison with the utility provider involved and sums of money exchanged !
A butyl lined system was welded in place and a hard edge of concealed blockwork installed to the perimeter. This system allowed the water to brim against the surrounding landscape, predominantly mown grassland, to give the most possible impact of the reflection of the sky and trees behind. Back... |
